TOP 3 FINALISTS NAMED IN EACH CATEGORY

From San Antonio, Texas "The Tejano Music Capital of the World":
Officials of the Texas Talent Musicians Association, producers of the annual TEJANO MUSIC AWARDS, announced the top three finalists in each TMA category at last nights Nominees Dance, held at Tejano Texas in San Antonio, Texas. The winners will be announced at the 22nd Tejano Music Awards on Saturday April 13, 2002 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

The tabulation of ballots was conducted by the independent CPA firm of Carneiro, Chumney & Co. Twenty-Nine thousand (29,000) ballots were mailed to various Tejano Format Radio Stations, Record Labels, Artists, Musicians and the TTMA Amigos of Tejano Music Members.

The 22nd Annual Tejano Music Awards will have performances by Conjunto Primavera, Clay Walker, Control, Los Garcia Bros, Jimmy Gonzales y Mazz, Jay Perez, Elida y Avante, Gary Hobbs, Grupo Iman, Grupo Siggno, Laurita Aguirre, Dee y La Franz, Margarita, Costumbre, Chris Perez, Mireya, Joe Lopez, Ruben Ramos & more. The Texas Talent Musicians Association, producers of the Tejano Music Awards, is a non-profit Texas chartered organization whose mission is to promote professional excellence; a better understanding and greater appreciation for Tejano music; and to provide a public forum for songwriters, performers and musicians by recognizing their artistic efforts and achievements through the annual Tejano Music Awards and related events.
