3rd Annual Latin Grammy

Lucy Moreno and Imelda Robledo of La Presna held a news conference at Henry's Puffy Tacos restaurant on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 with some of the Tejano artists nominated in the Regional Mexican - Best Tejano Album category. Present were Ram Herrera, David Lee Garza and Mike Villareal of Los Desperadoz. Also in attendance was Jose Rosario to answer questions about the Latin Grammy Awards process.

Ram Herrera, who's with Tejas Records, was nominated for his Ingrata album. Ram said he feels like a winner already just by being nominated. DLG y Los Musicales, with Sony Discos, were nominated for their Estamos Unidos album. David plans to dress more casual this year at the Latin Grammies since the last 3 times they have worn tuxedos and have not won. "So maybe that's what we're doing wrong", joked David Lee. Mike of Los Desperadoz, who are also with Tejas Records, were nominated for their Desde El Corazón album.

Others bands nominated in the same category are Jimmy Gonzalez y El Grupo Mazz, with Freddy Records, for their Siempre Humilde album, and La Mafia, with Fonovisa Records, for their Inconfundible album.

The video taped news conference will be televised in the near future.
